Remove spark plugs.... Disconnect the black/yellow wire from the powerpack.... check spark which should jump a 7/16" air gap... Does it?

If spark exists... faulty ignition switch or stop button.

If still no spark... it's normally a failed powerpack.

Put on new power pack and left the black and yellow wire disconnected and still no spark. Ok what next?

Sensor coil (trigger) or charge coil under flywheel may be bad.. if either fail, no spark to either plug. Check for broken/shorting wires coming from under flywheel. Unlikely that both external coils failed simultaneously. Search for the CDI troubleshooting page to find your type ignition.. they’ll tell how to check for proper resistance from the two coils under flywheel. You will need an ohm meter (cheap digital or analog multimeter will work fine).
Good luck!

I lost spark on both plugs on my 1985 20hp and just before I ordered a power pack I checked my ground wire connection for the power pack and there was no continuity from the connector to the block..cleaned up block and connector and got spark back..This was last year ad has worked since then.I made a short video and posted it on youtube about this.
