Hi Peter,<br /> I like 'em! I've got a 1980 Johnson 75 Stinger with a bazillion hours on a rebuild. The guy I bought it from didn't replace the impeller and scuffed the top cylinder. I bored out all three holes, stuffed in some .030 over pistons and have had 8 years of virtually no problems. I replaced the powerpack and resealed the lower unit last summer - first money I've had to spend on it outside of general maintenance. I pile up about 150-200 hours a season on it.<br /><br /> Check compression on it, as they like to be on the high side (mine still reads 140-145 psi in all three cylinders). If it hasn't been run recently, there's a good chance it'll need a good carb-cleaning. If the owner isn't sure of the motor's maintenance history, replace the waterpump impeller - cheap part, easy to replace, one less thing to worry about.<br /><br />- Scott
