1981 evinrude 2 stroke

i have an evinrude 35hp #E35ELCIG, it has a 30hp evinrude motor cover on it, i want to paint and redecal to 35hp, the motor cover must be identical size correct? i'd like to buy the 35hp decal kit, just want to make sure they will fit on a cowl that shows 30hp

The cover is probably from a later model 30hp. Because it appears the 30hp was not made until 1984...To me it looks like the 30hp and 35hp covers were the same for several years.. And maybe even the 20/25hp covers can be used for the 30/35hp...
