Im slowly waking my motor from its ten year slumber, took me two days to get the tilt trim working, dry no oil, so sorted all that goes up n down like beauty now, the motor sounds abit suss, looking at it can u change it while its on the boat the rear screw looks like hard to get out, i imagine i could fashion up a tool to get at it but how have you guts done it?

The tilt tube is rusted the nuts are down to nothing, can they be hack sawed off and knock out the tube? I really dont want to take the donk off the boat.

Seems to have no spark, the most likely cause would be power pack?

After ten years the fuel pump will be rooted ? Carbys will need to be pickled and kitted I imagine?

After 3 hours today, did comp with full charge batt, i got 90,95,100 bottom cyl 90 top cyl 100psi, i guess shes got stuck rings, will they free u when shes run n get gets hot? Do i mix up some tranny fluid and acetone jizz and fill her with that?other thoughts?
Pulled the thermstat housing off, was what i thought id see, bypass plugs were well stuck, thermostat was put in by a wally wanker who went crazy with rtv, the back spring was caked with it, doubt she was flowing much the passages look ok bit crusty crud but nothing major ill stick a 2 liter bottle of coke down the holes that should clean it up.
The pisser fitting was block, the pisser hose was blocked with salt crust in the middle, i cleared that, put a small drill bit up the guts of the pisser outlet cleaned that out.
I have pulled the starter out its a bit gratey in the operation, ill pull it to bits tonite clean it up, grease the bushes, at least its American Bosch no probs for parts if needed.
The carbys look brand new, they have black gaskets so genuine still, ill still strip them and clean them up, there not gonna survive ten years being hung up even if dry needles could be stuck or full of varnish .

Do not grease the brushes. I would get a different gauge because if that is the actual compression, that motor will need a rebuild. Try spraying a fuel mix into the carbs to see if it will even fire. Probably not stuck rings seeing how close they all are.
