1981 Johnson 9.9 oil dripping question

Good day,

I use my 1981 Johnson 9.9hp with synthetic oil mixed at 50:1 After usage the boat is stored in my garage and there is oil dripping from the thru-hub exhaust port that produces a stain on floor about 6 inches wide and thick enough to require cleaning with towel. I dont le and will drip for days. I dont let it run empty upon a ride so carb is full when stored. I own and use another motor (15 hp Force) and this one does not drip oil at all after a ride. Anything wrong with my Johnson ??

If that oil is black/gray and smells of gasoline it most likely is unburned gas/oil coming out of the exhaust and is normal for an engine that old and even the newer ones.

Thank you for your reply, yes I knew it was gas/oil mix. This engine is low hours (bought new) and has been doing that since new. Then if I reverse the question is is abnormal that my 1997 Force 15 hp does shed a drip at all after a ride ?
