1981 stand up Kawasaki Js 550

Hello,
Im new to the forums and had a few questions. I recently bought a buddies old stand up jetski back home in the Midwest n brought it down to the Florida keys. I got it up and running after replacing a few things fuel filter n such. It ran one day great for an hour or so and then started to lose power and eventually died and wont start again. Not sure where to start figured id ask someone more familiar.

I'd start with a compression test. From there I'd start looking into the fuel system. Also check out PWCToday.com, under the vintage section there is a ton of info on that model.

I guess what my problem is its not firing anymore. I was told it could be the stator or the magneto. Any advice?
