Hello everyone. I have acquired a 1982 Baja SS that has been in my family since it was new. The last time it was moved or used was probably 1996 when I pulled it out of the water myself and put it in the garage. I had every intention of using it again that summer so it wasn't prepared for storage. Shortly after, my father bought a new pontoon and I ended up moving on. The boat sat in the garage under a collection of life jackets, coolers and other lake stuff for 20+ years. This past weekend I cleaned the garage out and was able to get a real good look. Hull is in great shape and a good wash and wax will make it look great. Structurally the interior is solid. No soft spots etc. but some critters did a number on the seats, upholstery and foam padding. The motor is a 1982 Johnson 150 Hp. Before I do anything else I am going to see if I can bring that motor back to life. It ran great when I parked it. Then I will redo the entire cockpit. Has anyone ever been in a similar situation and do you have any pointers? I have another boat for daily use so I plan on taking this on very slowly. One step at a time. I am semi retired so I have the time to do it right. Any advise would be great.
