Hey all, I have a 1982 Bayliner 1950 cuddy. Im having some carb issues with this boat. I have a Mercruiser 470 in it now. The problem I have is that when the boat dies or shut it off it wont start again. I looked down the carb after shutting it off and it is still dripping fuel out into the engine. I just rebuilt the carb and im wondering if it was a bad rebuild or I need a new carb. The part number on the tag I have on my carb is a 1376-5990a1 and I cant find anything anywhere for a reman one. The carb I found is found here: http://bpi.ebasicpower.com/mm5/merc...roduct_Code=BPI3.7ROCH&Category_Code=MER7A-IB but it is telling me its for a 3.7 and im pretty sure I have a 3.0. The carb kit I got didnt have all the same parts as in some parts wouldnt thread in, and the gaskets were different. Any ideas on what I can do to figure this problem out? I only have about a month of boating weather left and would like to take her out and enjoy it some. Please, any input would be very helpful.

Im starting to think so too. That would make more sense. Any ideas on the carb issue?

Could the dripping fuel be from the float not properly measrued? Also anybody know where I can find a OEM carb kit online for a rochester (2jet) 1376-5990a1, 17067132?

The 470 went by many names over the years, it was never a 3.0. It is the 3.7. There was just a thread on here with a carb dripping fuel after shutoff causing flooding. Will try looking for it.

ps. there is also a site for 470 owners with another forum breezeworks.net but doesn't get no where near the traffic iboats does.

Well I have been looking for a carb kit for this engine but im getting several different kits that I could use. I really want to find the right kit that has new jets with it that I could use. The last kit was so wrong, some parts did not fit in this carb.
