Just bought this engine. The prop is dinged so before I get it fixed, I need to find out if it has the correct size prop on it. Anyone know what the correct size is?

there is no correct size prop for any engine. there are lots of factors to concider, such as weight of boat, intended use,as far as i undersand you want to keep the motor operating in a specified rpm range at wide open throttle.if you go by the manual the wot is 5500 rpm.thought the manual does not say i would say the wot operating range would be 4500 to 5500 rpm.a buddy of mine has a 16 foot thundercraft v hull bowrider with the 115 rude and is using a 13x19p aul. prop and that boat screams.a good base point is michigan wheels prop selector, try it and see if it can help atall.

RBL... How badly is the current prop "dinged"???
What type of boat, engine, usage???
What prop is it and what are its specs... Material, Diameter, Pitch, # of blades(or manufactures part number)???
What is the wide open throttle RPM & speed of the boat now???
It will be much easier for the prop guru's to help you if you can post these vital stats.
