1982 Evinrude 7.5. Carb issue.

Hey guys took a 7.5 Evinrude out today for a test run. It ran great for awhile, then as I was coming back to the dock at full throttle it died. It started back with choke on, but would die again if I tried WOT. Float issue?

Either fuel supply issue or dirty carb.

Hey boobie, started motor in barrel and pulled the hood. Line to carb from fuel pump was a little loose. Ziptie not tight enough..

Yessir. Sometimes it’s hard to diagnose that stuff out in the middle of the lake

Could also be the tank not venting properly. Depending on how full it is the motor can run for quite a while before the vacuum build up.
