Hi everyone. I was out in the water in my old Del-Majic Infinity last weekend and I spun the hub pretty good after I launched and was attempting to get on plain.. Not sure why it happened as I have never hit anything with it....maybe just old age.....
I puttered over to a marina and pulled the prop off. The rubber hub inside was all messed up. It looked like goo. I need to get another prop, and this one has been on the boat since I bought it. I would like to get a cheaper aluminum 3-blade replacement if possible, but I have no idea how to correlate the numbers on this prop to the current available replacement parts.
Here's the stats on what I've got:
Boat: 1982 Del-Majic Infinity 16.1'
Motor: 1982 Johnson 90HP V4 "Seahorse" (2-stroke)
propeller: stainless 13 & 3/8 x 17 with a 13 tooth spline (part # 389948)
As for performance, I just want a new prop to act like this one (before it spun the hub out). I don't care for more hole-shot or speed. I just use it for fishing and I was fine with the specs / performance that it had.
I've seen a lot of places online where you can look up a prop type, but I cannot find a 13:3/8 diameter anywhere. Is that number critical? Some websites are telling me I can use a different number there - is that the case? There's a keel-guard under the prop right now, so I don;t think I can go wider....maybe smaller? Can someone explain to me what range I can use as far as these number go? I certainly appreciate the help.
