I have a 1982 Mariner 150 that ive had a problem with a couple times now. Sometimes when I shift and go full throttle nothing really happens. The RPM may come up a bit but not very much if it does. I can see the shift linkage and throttle going to full but engine really doesn't respond.
One time when it happened I opened the covers on the motor and it took off. Since this happened ive noticed the if I move the cover on the left (standing from a drivers point of view) it responds.
All the linkage goes to the other side so this side is all the electrical stuff. Is there something electrical that sends a signal to the motor to rpm up?
