I recently b.ought a boat that has a 150hp mariner v6. Guy I bought it from said only thing he knew that was wrong was that it needed fuel pump rebuilt.

I rebuilt fuel pump, changed all fuel lines including primer line and bulb, checked compression and spark. Engine will only start with sprayed in fuel in carbs. Once started, it idles well and sounds pretty good when throttling up. Turn it off and restart within a minute and works fine. Wait 5 minutes and back to not starting. I do see some bubbles in fuel line, could that possible cause issue or any other ideas on hard to start?

I do hear enricher click when I push in choke...... To start I wasn't holding choke in as long as ive see someone in a post recommend per manufacture. Regardless still have starting issues.

Find out how to use the button or repair the throttle only function on your control.---Very important to do so.-----Long periods of cranking will quickly damage the starter.--That leads to slow cranking and a " no start " condition.

In regards to the controls, I have a quicksilver I believe early 80's. Ive searched net for info but cant find much. Do you know if the button is an electrical function or mechanical?

Ive had the back off but all the mechanical stuff is in front of where push button comes in so I cant see what exactly I need to try to find or address

I suppose you could first test it this way.---Disconnect throttle cable at the motor.----Give it some throttle and see if it starts up easily that way.-----Then fix / replace your controls if motor is happy.

The correct starting advice seemed to work, few trys and it started and ran fine. I ran some treatment thru it from a spare tank and ran well. Thanks for the advice!!!

Question, how many air bubble should i see going thru lines? When i hooked back up to main tank, i can see quite a few air bubbles time to time
