Hey guys, I just joined the board today and I have some questions that I was hoping some of you might be able to answer.
A little background info; I have a 1983 Starcraft 16' v-hull aluminum fishing boat and the deck is a bit spongy in the corner where it meets the rear bench seat, so I am looking into replacing the decking. The decking is currently covered in marine grade vinyl, so I can't see if there are any seams in the plywood or not.
Did these type boats come with a one piece deck or were there seams in the plywood from the factory? The plywood would have measured a bit less than 5 ft wide by approx. 11 feet in length if it were one piece.
Also, does anyone have experience replacing the decking in the same or similar boat? Pics of the deck replacement would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Dan
