Ok so I took it to the dealer and for $65 they advise me that the power head gasket needs to be replaced. Also state that the power head is loose due to a broken off bolt that holds the power head down. Im going to attempt doing this myself as I do have a chain hoist and I can't imagine the powerhead weighs more than 150 lbs. I found an OEM service manual for a 1980 Evinrude 75HP but wanted to know if it will also work for a 1983 model? Any reccomendations on where to get an OEM manual? Model is E75TRLCTE.
Basically all I want to do is pull the power head, extract the broken bolt, replace the gasket and put all new bolts in. Is it really that hard? I have an extensive set of tools, air tools, etc and a lot of experience on cars. Any gotcha's to look out for when performing this procedure?
thanks in advance for your time and information!
