New (to me) project boat. Mechanicals sorted engine/trans. Old '"repairs" in aft keel between strut and rudder took on a new significance when I was replacing the bilge pump and ffound multiple unsealed old screw holes and a single screw holding old bilge in place (also unsealed). Meaning I think the inside screw holes are the source of the externally evident damage. Oily residue in the bilge but glass is good from the inside.

Question is re approach ie 1) best way to seal old screw holes, 2) fasten new bilge pump holder then 3) can the keel issues then be solved from below with assumption of control of water ingress above?

It the holes have been exposed to water for very long it's more than likely that the underlying wood structure has been compromise. Further investigation is needed to ascertain if the wood needs replacing

That's for sure. It's between the stringers so I'm not sure how much wood there is right there but I'm sure it's more extensive

Thank you for your input - will post more as available!
