Some help in the right direction would be greatly appreciated....

So my problem is, about a month ago I was on the lake I was running WOT and my engine lost rpms and just died. It started right up after this so I didn't dare run back to WOT. However it did sound like it was running rough kind of like it was running on three cylinders. My first thought was the carbs needed to be rebuilt so I got the kits and rebuilt the carbs. Rebuilding the carbs did not help, so I moved on to my next thought it must be the fuel pump. I rebuilt the fuel pump with all new parts and ran new hoses, engine side only took the boat out on 5/4/2017. The boat ran great and rolled over faster than it had since I owned it. After about a 5 to 7 min run on the lake, the boat fell flat on its face and died. Just like before I tried to restart the boat but it didn't want to start almost like the battery was dead. Waiting for probably two minutes the I tried again to start the motor, it was very hard to start the starter motor was lagging almost like the battery was dead but I did have 13+ volts. I finally got the motor started and again it sounded like it was running on three cylinders.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated... Thanks in advance...

Start with checking for spark at all plugs and a compressiontest.
The numbers should be about 130-150 PSI and 10% in diffeance.

Since you gone through the fuel system the two other things for the engine to run is spark and compression.

Sounds like it got HOT???
Test the overheat alarm system.
Key on, ground the terminal on the sending unit.
This should make it sound off???

After 30+ years the buzzer might have gone bad??
A car or motorcycle horn will work.
They can be installed backwards, be careful and test when installed.

And do the compression test suggested by Nordin.

Update on the motor 5/5/2017 ; I have checked the compression and cylinder 1 has 150, cylinder 2 has 110 , cylinder 3 has 150, and cylinder 4 has 150. All four have good spark. Although I now have a run ability issue where the boat wont even run unless the throttle is at about half throttle. I went back through and set the carbs and all linkage to what the manual says they need to be at. After doing that I still cant get the motor to idle without having it at half throttle.
I am concerned about the CD module box I look at the back of the CD module and the back of it looks like it has melted so this may be my problem. I ordered a new thermostat, gasket and grommet today but the good thing running it on the hose today the water coming out wasn't hot and the thermostat housing was not hot either. I could leave my hand on the housing for an extended period of time and same with the water coming out.
