1983 evinrude 75HP cold start

Model number E75TRLCTE, Start off with all 3 carbs rebuilt, all brand new fuel delivery system( lines/fuel pump/tank) 3 new coils, plugs. Now when it sits for a couple days or even a couple hours, it's brutal to get this running again my brand new starter gets a work out!!. But when its running it runs mint. Has anyone run into this before? the only thing i am questioning is the primer solenoid, tried moving the red lever and fuel started to leak out between the lever and housing,so i turned it back to start and leaking had quit. Any idea's before i start throwing parts at this? Thanks.

It is just a wee o-ring that is leaking in the primer, easy repair and kit is available.------Are you raising the fast idle lever ?-----Are you holding the key in while cranking it over , yes or no ?------Is the electric primer working ?

Lever is up and key is pressed in during crank, doesn't even kick until 3 round of start. Voltage is at primer while key is in.

If this O ring is bad enough would air bypass the primer?

No ----Fuel comes to the primer at pressure from the pump.-----An air leak there is not the starting problem.----Have you done a compression test , yes or no ?----Does spark jump a gap of 7/16" on a test set-up, yes or no ?---When you raise the idle lever does the timer base rotate slightly , yes or no ?-----Voltage at the primer yes but is fuel being sprayed in during cranking , yes or no ?

Does the primer click at all when key is pressed in? The very fact that it leaks tells me it is compromised to some degree as It is.
