Hello all.

Recently picked up my glassmaster (for next to nothing, of course haha) and am in the process of restoring her.

She has a mercruiser 470 i/o which is running good but is in need of the recommended upgrades (alternator upgrade).

Hull is solid but in need of a good cleaning/painting.

Overall, the boat is in pretty good shape, it just wasn't loved as the previous owners left it open all year and didn't seem to care enough to even remove the pinestraw and leaves from the interior when they took it out.

I know the boat is an 83 glassmaster but I am unsure of the model. If any of you guys can identify it, I would appreciate it. Any help as far as possibly obtaining a manual would be great as well.

-----------------------------------------
Work done so far:

Removed old lettering and numbering from hull.

Stripped 40% of the old clear that is cracking.

Removed the old detail striping.

-----------------------------------------

Will keep this thread updated and any help/suggestions you guys may have to offer would be very much appreciated.

Jasn

Thanx for the welcome.

I love the community thusfar.

I run a "political" type community and it's nice to get away from the mudslinging for a bit haha.

I will keep you guys updated (with photos) as I go.

I have checked everything to the best of my ability and have noticed no softspots.

There is only one minor ding on the hull and I will be fixing that the first of next week.

Any suggestions as to things I definitely need to check?

I plan on having the boat in the water within six months. So I have plenty of time to get things done right.

Any of you guys have any opinions (positive or negative) of Bondo Fiberglass Resin?

Seems to be the most prevalent brand around here and I have had nothing but good experiences with Bondo.

Just wondering what you think.
