1983 Mercruiser 120 Running problem

Well my Starcraft Ilander with the 120 mercruiser got new points and condensor cap wires sea foam in tank clean fuel filters. NOW it starts and when you hold choke closed but a hair open it idles and will run as sioon as gas is given and choke opens it dies, Sounds good when it runs, Im thinking carb dirty? It sat 3 years before I boughtn it. Alos the distributor seems extremely tight. zI loosened the hold down clamp and I cant get it (the distributor) to turnat all) I soaked it with a mixture of automatic transmission oil and acetone a very good penetrating oil. Shall see later. What do you recomend? And does the carb have to come completely off? Thanx Guys Happy Boating

Ayuh,..... I'm thinkin', Completely off the motor,.... 'n Completely torn down,.. Cleaned,... 'n Kitted...

It's probably a 50/50 shot at rebuildin' it....

Tear the carb down to "parade rest"...rebuild it.
Try some "PB Blaster" and heat(a "micro torch" if you can)on the dist.

Wellbeen whilebut wanted to explain running problem !!One way check valve on top Gas Tank piece of dirt (a stick small ) stuck bal shut.) I removed replaced with reg fitting and voila she ran and ran OK ,Thanx for TRYING TO HELP GUYS!! IKE
