1983 Mercury 25 HP no juice

I have a 1983 Mercury 25 HP I just bought on a 1983 Bass Tracker I. I have only had it 1 month. Went to use it and when I tried to start it I get NOTHING.<br />It acts as though the battery is dead. But the hbattery is fine. I pulled the motor cover, checked the starter selenoid by jumping the large two terminals, starter works fine.<br />Just no juice when I turn the key. Yes, the gear shift is in neutral. Any ideas how to fix? I think it is the starter selonoid but I don't even get a clicking sound from it by using the key, everything is dead. Sounds like you have an ignition switch problem or the wiring harness from the engine to the ignition switch

Take a peice of wire and touch from the voltage side of the solenoid to the small terminal on the solenoid that comes from the ignition switch. If that energizes the solenoid then If you have a volt ohmmeter it is easy checked. You need 12 volts coing to the switch all the time and when it is in start it should have 12 volts on the wire going back to the coil on the starter solenoid

Neutral safety switch could be out of adjustment<br />or defective.It may be under the engine cover or in the shifter.Dont know on your motor.

Thanks to all for your help! I found the problem, blown fuse! <br /><br />There is a in-line fuse from a smaller red wire from the selonoid. I replaced it and walla it works just fine!<br /><br />Thanks! <br /><br />Hayden
