1983 mercury outboard 40 hp 2 cyl

Good morning all,

I have a merc 40 1983 outboard. I need to adjust the carb settings. I took the carb a part to clean and now i cannot get the fuel/air mix correct. Does anyone knows the factory settings for this carb? It has a fix low and high speed jet. One screw for the mix adjustment. The serial for the motor is 06315570.

part 24.screw it in till seated lightly. DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN. Then back it out 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 turns that should put you in the ballpark. no high speed adjustment/fixed
