1983 Skeeter StarFire 15' 6" (help)

I just bought this boat. It has been completely redone. One problem, the guy that did it covered up the plate that gives ratings on number of persons, weight, max hp etc. He didn't just cover it with carpet, he extened the front walking platform out in front of it.

Does anyone know the ratings? Really I need to know the max horse power. I want to enter the Skeeter Owner's Tourney next year and you can not exceed the plate hp on your outboard.

I posted this in the Skeeter section but am not getting any help.

you can look up the coat gaurd formula's and go by that they might not be the same as the manufactures specs but its what you go by if you dont have a plate

I went on google put in skeeter starfire and found some sort of registry.
there was an 87 with a 150 Mariner.Didn't do a full search.

Did a further search found an 87 here at iboats they said it was listed as having a 120 hp capacity.Found an 87 and 85 115 in the registry with 110,115
and 110 motors.175 appears to have 150s.

Actually I found the formula.

It is (length x width x 2) - 90 and then rounded to the next 5 up.

In my case it is: 15.5' L x 6.5' W x 2 - 90 = 111.5 (rounded up = 115)

So the max Coast Guard rating for my boat Skeeter is 115 HP.
