I have successfully purchased a creampuff 83 IMP Inca and with a little TLC runs great, Chevy V8 350 with a stringer outdrive. The only issue is the trim, I repeat trim not tilt motor requires some tapping to get the trim operating and a friend says the motor probably needs new brushes. I know the trim only works with some tapping while engaging the thumb control on the throttle. My question is, How or where do I find how to remove the trim motor without pulling the outdrive or motor? I have searched and have learned it is not easy but if I can get it off i'm pretty certain the new brushes will do the trick. Any help greatly appreciated. I'm working on posting some pics.

use overhead crane and a sling, lower trim, sling motor, unbolt trim, pick up front of motor, remove trim assembly from boat

get to bench and repair.

however it is probably the contactors that are bad, and not the motor on the hydraulic trim.
