1983 Suzuki DT 30 Not getting spark

I have a 1983 DT 30 that isn't getting any spark in either spark plug. I had this motor running this december. When I got it out this year it turns over just fine but doesn't have any spark. I replaced the spark plugs, cleaned up the three ground wires and connection surface, Inspect the timing thing under the fly wheel and no broken wires. I was going to use a volt meter to check some areas but I have no idea where to check? Any suggestions?

Make sure your killswitch is working properly ...

I Believe that the owner before me disabled the kill switch on it. When I had it running last fall I could pull the kill cord and it would stay running

then there is a very good chance that switch is your problem now as it was not functioning properly last time you tested it

It was running all last year with it disconnected and now all of a sudden it won't get spark? I do think it is some kind of wiring issue and am not sure how to re wire the kill switch
