no water means the impeller has failed, or the water tube is miss aligned, the thermostats, have nothing to due with the pee stream, but no pee stream, no cooling.

side note, just because you have the pee stream, does not mean the tstats are opening and cooling the motor, thats for future reference.

Before dropping the gearcase, remove the pee tobe from its fitting and make sure a mud dauber hasn't built a nest in the tube. That'll save a wasted weekend.

If its a brand new impeller, they cant go in backwards. You should remove the prop, just for safety's sake, in case it gets ruined in the lu removal. The grommet on top of the impeller housing is a prime suspect for water flow blockage. Make sure that it is seated nicely on the impeller housing, and that when you slide the water line in it during re application of the lu, you dont shift it in any way or push it deeper into the housing. Also check the intake area while you have it down. GL Chris

took the foot off, tore the impeller apart, blew air in water tube, put all back together, water is a nice steady stream. headed to the lake to see how she runs!
