hey folks. i own a 1984 90 horse Evinrude V4 with the vro. My engine is stuck in the up position. when i hit the switch to go down there is no sound or click, nothing. when i hit it to go up i get the usual strong motor sound. i havent check for poor connections and i havent cleaned the existing connections yet. i called my mechanic and he says its probably a bad relay. my question is if it is a relay problem do you recommend me doing the work myself (how big a job is it) also if i decide to let my guy do it about how much should it cost if he charges 80 dollars an hour for labor?
