1984 90 hp J90 MLCRD What are these tiny brass nipples for? The one on the block seems plugged.
I'm redoing all of the fuel and primer lines. In the process I noticed that this little group of lines was cracked and split at the nipple fittings. I have a good bit of OE primer hose (a small roll of NOS) and was going to refit with new hose. I checked all of the fittings with carb cleaner and nozzle and found that all blow clear except the one on the starboard side of the block just behind the throttle lever-timing advance lever. It looks like a press fit, so no way to remove it and check for blockage. The other four all thread into the intake and are easy to remove. Doesn't the one behind the throttle lever breathe somehow? It seems like it shouldn't be completely blocked. Out of curiosity, I pulled one of the other four and found a pressed in stainless screen on the intake manifold side of the fitting. Those fittings, right behind the carbs, all blow clear with carb cleaner. Help is appreciated. Thanks.
