Sent boat to shop to get it running, impeller and carb kit as it has set up a number of years. Boat ran and shifted good on trailer last year.
After attempting a test drive my mech called to say it was stuck in reverese. That linkage appears to be working but couldn't get it into reverse and now cant get it out. Must be something in the foot.
Anyone have any idea what this might be? I asked if it could have something to do with removing/reinstalling the foot for the impeller but he says no linkage works. Could it still need adjustment? I am pretty certain it was shifting correctly. What could sitting up do to anything within the gearcase? It does have fresh lube by the way.

For an extra 300 they fixed the shift pawl that apparently broke on the test run. Boat runs/shifts well, although there is a distinct knock coming from the foot. He claimed it was the weak cylinder rattling and that all v-4s do. I am not so sure, i spun the prop by hand and you can hear the knock. Shouldnt have any knock in it if he just replaced the seals and rebuilt it. I am sure it wasnt there as i had replaced the prop and spun it prior to trying to get her running and there was no knocking. never had any shifting problems or noises prior. What could this be know, should i take it back? take it somewhere else, try it myself?
