Hello All.

Picked up a little floating metal box, and thought I could could have some conversion fun.
Theres a few things I can't seem to source good information on.

1. The 'Sticker' that gives me the weight capacity is long gone. Where can I source another?
2. Just randomly guessing the weight capacity around 800 lbs, I'm going to be adding a hundred lbs (or so) of materials...
Does the added weight 'allow' for a larger motor than the rated 25hp?
3. When I'm done with the modifications, do I need to go and get the boat 're-calibrated' for weight and buoyancy?

No, adding extra weight doesnt raise motor capacity, technically it decreases it. Every once you add to the boats "build" weight decreases its carrying capacity, which includes motor weigh....

Recalibrated? Not sure where or who might do that for a DIY boat owner. Only if you're a manufacturer and the USCG comes round to verify you are following required minimums.

Boat weights are fairly easy to find online (as are max weigh capacity and max hp #s) or simply weigh the boat and trailer, remove boat from trailer and re-weigh it....

Heres 2 outta the 3: http://boatspecs.iboats.com/Alumacraft_Boats__MV_1470__1984/bp/66b1461

245lbs dry weigh, empty no fuel or motor
25hp max

Whats the hundred pounds you want to add?

Open fishing utility to bass boat 'conversion'?

Sorry, been a rough few weeks.
Yes conversion to a fishing boat (but parts of the deck structure will be removable if I can get my design right).

Using aluminum framing as opposed to wood.
then Marine ply for decking.
Will be adding a live well, electrical, etc.

and thanks for the link. verified some of my guess work.
I was wondering about an actual sticker so when the build is complete I could apply it. I like clean build work and the 'extra touches' :)
