1984 Bayliner power trim

When I try to back up my out drive comes out of to water. I had to tie it up pulling it out of the water. It would not go up.:confused:How can I check power trim fluid? Please help

Tell us a little bit more about you engine and outdrive on the boat.

There is a pump with a reservoir in the engine compartment. You can check the fluid level there.

Sounds like there is air in the rams.

If you have a Volvo stern drive, it isnt going to have any fluid. Also the older Volvo systems, are for tilt, and only trim under 1000 rpms. If its coming up in rev, the dogs need ajusting. If Volvo, you will need to post in the Volvo section, and get a factory service manual.

Olderbayliner with a outboard motor will be a force or a chrysler and will have a small plastic plug in the resvoir just put the engine up and fill it and when it comes down it will bleed the air out if you have a inboard then I can't help lol
