Well I will just start out by telling you that there was absolutly nothing wrong with it before I started. I was lubing up the lower unit when I had a little left over so I looked in the repair manual found the location and put it in. Then I read on and saw that it should have been oil not lube. But I didn't have any of that so I tried to see if it would still work and nothing. How exactly do I fix this problem and why would it not work. Please help.

Taz..... It would help to know exactly what you mean when you say it doesn't work. We need to know what it is and isn't doing.

Yes I put lube in the T @ T and there is power going to the t and t but nothing is happening. It isn't moving up or down. Just sits in the position it is in whether it is up or down. Just sits there with nothing but noise. And it did work prior to me screwing with it. So I am unsure of exactly what to do. Please help. I am going to drain and refill with oil today. So hopefully that will do the trick but I know if it hydralic that it is based on pressure so wouldn't it work no matter what. Thanks for the replies.

It sounds like you are low on fluid.there is a relief valve on the starboard side (I think).Try turning it and lifting the motor by hand.then refill the unit and bleed it .You may be airbound. CC

That thing uses a positive displacement gear pump so if the motor turns, it'll move the fluid. I'm just not real sure how to flush the grease out of the system though. I would guess that the grease would mix with the hydraulic fluid, (not like water and oil) so there should be a way to empty it, (the system). I'd start by taking the lines loose from the pump and running the pump. I bet it's gonna be real messy.

Keep us up to date and let us know what and how you're doing. No telling when someone else will have the same problem. ;)

g'luck & c/6

Hooty

thanks for the info I am going to try to siphon it out using a grease adapter that screws in the inlet and then using a pump to get the lube out then. Fill and empty again and then fill it and try to bleed it. I really hope this works. Thanks for the posts.
