Hello, I just recently bought a boat with a 1984 Force 125. When I bought it Seller said that all 4 cylinders had compression of 135 psi, and had it running a week before I bought it. I just put ney plugs and cables on it, it turns over fine but It wont start. Any ideas where I should next look?? Thanks

Check your compression first for yourself, then we can go from there. After that start checking for fuel and spark.

KeysBoat, Do as the other advisor says. If no spark at all, there is a grounding wire from the ignition on the port side of the engine. Disconnect it and check for spark. It sometimes kills the ignition. nevjb

Hopefully you heard the boat run and took it for a ride before you bought it. You say you changed the cables if they are not adjusted correctly you will not pick up the neutral safety switch and this will not allow the motor to turn over. I am wondering if that what you mean by it wont start? good luck, bret

If you need further assistance please email me @ forcepower01@yahoo.com. thanks,Bret
