HI. I have a 1984 (j70) Johnson .I have replaced spark-plugs ,all fuel lines , recon all 3 carbs ,primer bulb has been replaced ,new tote tanks as well .All 3 cylinders are 150 psi
What happens ,is the engine will start ,idle fine ,then when i begin to "slowly push the hammer down" around the 2000 rpm mark the motor will loose all power (like it bogs down) the revs will drop ,then it will stall. If I throttle all the way down ,there will be a slight lull around the 2000 mark ,then bursts into life .
Now this is where it drives me up the wall...As this only seems to happen once the motor has been restarted after usually around 30 min or more (coincidence???) .
If i start ,then stop, then start again straight away ,it seems to be fine .
I can idle ,both in and out of the water and rev it right up ,and no problem .This fault only seems to rear its ugly head when its under load .
Like most boaties ,over spending on their "pride and joy" this is driving me insane .
Please any suggestions ????!!
Huge thanks in advance
