1984 Mercruiser 260 quadrajet carb fitting HELP

Need help identifying a part I lost. I need the brass nipple-connector that screws into the quadrajet 4MV carb that runs via clear plastic tubing and drains-vents into the fuel pump. Its not shown on any of the parts diagrams.

Its called. A "Barbed fitting". You can get them at most good hardware stores, NOT Home Depot. A real store like Ace or your local mom and pop shop if there are any left. Napa may carry one also.

I think I'd try to find someone with a junker. that part is not listed. I hat to call these guys because they always ask for more than I want to pay, but I will send you a link to a recycle/salvage outfit that should have dozens of those.

The line is a safety feature for the fuel pump. If the diaphragm ruptures in the fuel pump, the excess fuel will dump into the engine, not the bilge. It doesn't drain from the carb to the pump... but the other way around. Are you sure it is connected to your carb? (Maybe along the base somewhere?)
