the rebuild is tricky because the valve body is very unforgiving. If you are meticulous about every detail and don't accept any compromises then you should do okay. Just remember that everything is done for a reason. Getting one to work is much less difficult than getting one to last. Super meticulous, lots of pictures, no low quality materials, everything spotless clean before assembly, everything back together exactly the way it came apart ... and you should be okay.

I apologize for being all over the map, but I think everyone is misunderstanding my question. I would NEVER attempt to do a rebuid myself, EVER. Not my thing. However, I don't "think" it is my pump. I am now leaking at the cyl on the left side from the rear and the trim (center) cyl. I personally think I have a viscosity problem or a leaking cylinder(s) problem. I was good until I put this Pennzoil trim and tilt fluid in. Now it goes down fast and maybe I have some air (or whatever) in the system also.

fix the leaks first. the system is airtight. It does not matter what the viscosity is, a healthy system will never lose a drop of fluid. Until you find and plug the leak then you can not fully distinguish between loss of fluid, bad seals, or low fluid.

fix the leak. nothing else matters yet.

What is your suggestion on how to fix the leaks? Are there repair kits? Is this in a manual? Is there an instruction sheet or a sticky? What should be my next step? Thanks.

might I suggest a low cost option ...I use this stuff a lot ...add some engine sealer .the stuff that expands oil seals ...I tested it on an old hard seal with a 20 mm hole ..closed to 18mm and real flexible in about 14 days ..if you can drain the unit so much the better .pour the whole bottle in and up and down it a few times..use it and see how it is in 14 days ..then you have the opton to drain and re fill .....brilliant stuff use it all over ..impellers ..minn kota oil seal etc Loads of different makes Wynns..STP Slicl 50 just make sure it says rejouvernates seals

Would the cylinder on the left be your PORT cylinder? On my 125, the port cylinder is a non pressurized shock absorber. Center, "beer can looking thing" would be the trim cylinder and starboard cylinder is the lift cylinder. Where are you seeing leakage? Around the shaft or at the fitting? Viscosity- I agree that the system should hold pressure regardless of oil viscosity but if the problem is oil leaking past an old cylinder o-ring or a scored or worn cylinder, a thinner oil would leak by at a faster rate. We don't know what was in there before. Some home handyman may have put 40 or 50 weight in there to keep it up longer. The problem didn't seem to start until he put in the correct oil.

Exactly. However, I have new o-rings on order, should arrive on Monday. Still snooping for an answer regarding the correct/best type of fluid. I will probably use 30 weight non-detergent unless I hear from a pro otherwise. Who know what was in it before? Smoky grey in color. Rritt says the system is self bleeding to top of motor so now I just want to make sure I drain as much of the old stuff out as possible, put it all back together and hope for the best. I do think the addition of thinner viscosty fluid earlier pushed past the o-rings and found a way out. Oh, mine doesn't have a "beer can" looking trim cylinder, mine has a "home plate" looking one

iso32 hydraulic oil. if you run at or near freezing temperatures then AW32 hydraulic oil. designed to make rubber last longer, not trap air bubbles, and absorb/neurtralize trransient moisture. problem with hydraulic oil is that it is more expensive per quart and usually sold in 5 gallon buckets.
