I've got an '85 15 HP Johnson manual start that's had less than 20 gals. of gas run through it over the years. It used to run great. I've got new gas, gas tank, hose, plugs, and fuel pump, and the carb has just been cleaned and treatment run through the cylinders by a Johnson mechanic who said the compression seemed low (i.e. - he could easily turn flywheel by hand). Now, it starts fine at first, but then surges at WOT (i.e. - when warmed up) and then will die and be difficult to restart. Help! I'm no mechanic and my mechanic would like to sell me a new one!
