I can get this boat and trailer for $500. Trailer in good condition. States the boat runs fine and no leaks. Has a nice tight cover. Was parents boat and they gave it to him, he doesn't need two. I believe him. Seems too good to be true. Its a bit bigger than I wanted, but what do you guys think? Motor looks relatively clean in the pics, nothing nasty around or under it. Outdrive looks in decent condition, hard to tell though. Its trimmed in the up position in the pictures. Any advice? This will be my first real boat(have a gheenoe with a merc 7.5). Thanks for any advice. He accepted my offer and I told him to give me a couple days to think it over.

If the wood is sound, it could be a steal. If not, you should be able to part it out for more than $500.

That's what I was thinking, although a little short of space to have a hull sitting around after I sell trailer+ parts. How do you even junk a boat hull if it came to that? Thanks for the reply. He's telling me This is the only year it hadn't been used and when he took the top off it was a bit moist. How do I check stuff out without taking it to someone for a survey?
