Not much to go on, New Boater.<br /><br />You might have "spun" the prop hub, allowing the prop shaft to slip at times without turning the prop. Make a mark across the end of the prop that covers both the prop and the hub. If that line shifts or breaks during use, the hub needs to be replaced.<br /><br />Another possibility is prop ventilation. If the prop breaks the water surface and can "grab" some air it will try to run in foam and overspeed, sort of like getting your car drive wheels on patches of ice.<br /><br />Give us more info, please.
