I have this 1985 90 hp evinrude vro .....at first it ran crappy(great start eh?)
then it stopped running altogether...good compression no spark anywhere.. we replaced stator brand new ...still not running no spark ...replace rectifier still not running ....did recommended test on timer base A to D no reading B to D no reading C to D no reading.... A to B 32ohms ..B to C 32ohms,...A to C 32 ohms..I can see grooves (damage) on inside of base (from dirt or debris) ...this part is expensive new ...so found one on ebay didn't buy it cause seller didn't do resistance test ....says it came of running motor...he says resistance test is sometimes not true.. and a base which fails test can still be a good working base...can anyone give me advice before I spend a fortune on this motor?
