Hello all. This is my first post, and I'm new to the forum. It appears like most forums there is a wealth of information. Here is my problem I hope you can assist with:

I just picked up a used 1985 Bass Tracker Tournament TX-17. It appears the wood is starting to rot on the transom, but I cannot tell if the engine is actually being supported by aluminum or if the wood is actually a critical piece. Does anyone know if this should be a concern and how big of pain in the rear will it be to replace the wood?

Thanks,

Double D.

The wood is structural, so its important. Do a search here on "rotten transom" and you'll get in idea of what you're up against.
