1985 Black Max XR2 150 Oil Injection

I recently purchased this boat with the motor described above. Being new to outboards, I was not aware of how the oil injection system works. I checked the reservoir for oil frequently, and filled as I used it. For about 16 hrs of engine use, this thing has run fantastic. I keep filling the reservoir, she runs great. I just picked up a Seloc and realized, there is supposed to be a remote tank for filling and ultimately pressurizing the injection system. Someone has removed the remote tank and capped the lines where the tank was. Please, I need some experienced opinions. What are the consequences of running like this, and what are my options.
