Hey guys, been awhile since I posted last, looking at a new prospect and its a 1985 Chris Craft Scorpion 168 4.3 185. As seen here on CL:

Couple question for vessel:
I heard water sits in the sky lockers and rots out the floor?
I have really know idea how the motor mounts to the actual boat, I'm used to outboards that clamp on, any advice on how to check the mounts?
Owner say is a 4.3, is that typically a Mere? If so what are some good pointers for a quick inspection?
With it being a inboard/outboard whats the best way to check if it actually starts other than taking it to a lake?

What other things should I check out on the this boat?

4.3 is a GM motor used by OMC, Mercruiser, Volvo-Penta, Ilmore, etc.

Chris Craft used motors from OMC, Mercruiser, and Volvo over the years.

If your boat has a giant boot around the drive, its most likely OMC. Your cl link goes to a different boat

also, if it is OMC, I say pass on the boat.
