The 135 crossflow most like yours was discontinued in 1976 as the 140 crossflow was introduced in 1977. Later, the change in rating systems resulted in the discontinuing of the then 140 crossflow as the 1985 115 is roughly the same as the earlier 140.

I believe that the 135HP models from 2000 up are all fuel injected .

the next time you go in it you can add to spacers that go where the bubble is on your motor it allows more air flow also you can add fibe glass boyseen reeds to bump it up 300 rpm and add air flow spacers on your reed cages all of this will still keep your durability when i find out how to post pic ill show you

When you go to composite reeds, remember that they don't last nearly as long as the original. There is no free lunch.

Your year 115 would compare to a 1984 140 hp engine. Both crankshaft-rated engines. Those 1984 140's had some high performance components installed which differentiated them from the 115's: larger carbs, high compression heads, intake filler blocks, and the factory machined/installed bubble back exhaust. You will find the 115 will pull nearly as strong out of the hole as a 140. The 140 will gain speed, hp on the upper end of the rpm range.
