Anyone here know how, who or where I can get my 1985 Evinrude 15hp carb modified, boring out the venturi and re-jetting and such?

I had purchased a 15hp power-head a while back and noticed that the carb had been reworked had what looks to be red dye all over it not sure why, also the cylinder head had red dye all over it as well with .030 stamped into it. I'm guessing it has .030 oversize piston and rings in it. I'm asking because I'd like to match the other motor I have of same year with this one and put them both on a boat, this Hot motor runs like a spotted ape:D

Any Info would be Great.

Why don't you just get the proper carb for your engine?

Re: 1985 Evinrude 15hp Carb???

Ah Daviet, I have the proper carbs and several of unwanted 9.9 carbs as well so this isn't the problem other then I just want to open one up a little bit and squeeze a little more power out of it to match a motor that has already been reworked. I know if I want more HP I need to buy more and bigger HP but if I can get some info on venturi boring I can get a little more HP for this particular motor to match it with the other one and use them both on the back of my boat and maybe turn the 9.9 carbs into 15 carbs as well.

I'm guessing someone with a machine shop did the carb and engine work, I guess I could always copy the reworked carb as a last resort.

Thank you for your reply :)
