So, I am trying to help my buddy repair his lower unit. We put a new seal kit in it last year and at the end of the season noticed it was leaking lower unit oil from the bearing carrier behind the prop. I pulled the unit and noticed a crack in the lower unit and a bent prop/carrier. The crack is less than a 1/4 inch but it was enough of a hit to change the round shape of the housing, carrier and prop. What is ya'lls thoughts. Is this thing done? Anything I can do?

Thanks!

Donor case/bearing carrier/prop. Tim’s outboard 218-682-2331 will have used parts, and you can swap over (seal kit and impeller would be a good plan too). Since your gearset/driveshaft are good, parts shouldn’t break the bank. Check for bent propshaft due to impact. Rolling on a flat surface (glass) would be a good test.

Also, you may be able to fix the small crack/deformed gearcase.. I would call for replacement price before attempting that fix.

Good luck!
