1985 Johnson 60hp 2 cylinder Carb Question. Strange screen on upper body

Hi all,

Can someone tell me what in the heck this is for? I have a 1985 johnson 60hp Seahorse 2 Cylinder with 2 Carb set.

One of my carbs has a hole with a screen on upper body, other is missing. I can't find any info anywhere on what these are for. Can someone help>

Its not life or death. It's just a vent to atmosphere, which i assume is for calibration of fuel flow. most carbs have them in some style or another.stuff a screen in the other one if you are concerned about bugs getting in
