Hi everyone, looking for a bit of advice. I have an older Johnson. The trim works fairly well there is some grinding noise when the motor is almost fully trimmed down but doesn't seem too bad. When I trim the motor all the way down though I can't trim it back up, almost like it locks up. After a while I can trim it back up but for some reason when I trim it completely down and then try to trim up it won't move up. Anyone every heard of this? Is it due to low hydraulic oil? I haven't timed how long it would take for it to allow me to trim back up again as I never was in a bind or anything and needed to trim back up after trimming all the way down. Anyways any help is appreciated! Thanks

Is the trim motor actually working when the problem is happening? If the electrical is working properly, sounds like there is a problem with the hydraulic system.

Hi

The trim motor does still work (and makes regular noise) but it takes a few minutes while all the way down for it to want to trim back up. I haven't checked the oil level, will do that when I winterize I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas as to what could be the issue.
