Hello all,
I have a 1985 50hp Mariner with the old style power trim/tilt.
Last year, the up/down and trailer switches were working; however, the down switch would intermittently not work. This year, the down switch does not work at all, so I managed to find a second hand one that does work. Now comes my conundrum.... Last night, in my haste to get to the lake, I pulled off the old switch without looking at the wiring and then tried to place the new one on by memory - my memory has failed me. The wires are faded somewhat so the original colors are no longer accurate.
I have tried several different combos and no success - just the occasional time, having the trailer button function.
I am attaching photos to show what I am working with, so my question is - what wire needs to attach to what?
The first photo is the schematic I'm using, the second is my new switch and wires, the third is my old switch that demonstrates how the new one looks from the back.
I apologize for the picture sizes - I'm at the lake and have limited reception to edit photos
