hey just wanted to update you guys on an issue I was having with my engine,
for some time many of you can recall I was having problems with the engine starting, then it would run fine, then it would stall and be tough to start, finally it wont get up on plane at all,it idles great, boggs down when throttle is pushed and it stalls....

well as it turns out,it was running on only 3 cylinders the last time it was out on the water,
that explains the power loss,
I now believe the switch boxes are both no good,
THEY COST 350$ A PEICE!!!!! OUCH.......
THANK GOD i FOUND USED ONES FOR 65$ A PEICE ,WITH A 90 DAY WARRANTY.

WHEN I GET THE BOXES I WILL INSTALL THEM THEN GIVE YOU GUYS AN UPDATE,

but will bad switch boxes cause the problems i have been having?

thanks,
mike

bad reed valves will also cause a cylinder not to fire

One box operates 3 cylinders. Find out what plugs are not sparking and follow the wire to the coil, then coil to the switch box. Replace that box only. If its not that, it could be your trigger or even your stator. Sounds like the switch box to me. Best of luck.

both boxes are bad when tested with a volt meter,
the lower box has 2 cylinders not firing,
the upper box has 1 cylinder not firing....

I will order the boxes and install them and give an update,
the mechanic that was there pretty much believes this is what the problem is with the engine,
all the carbs look great to him,he claims the stator is almost brand new and strong,
i will give an update when shes running like a gem again.....
